The Biggest Cock on the Island

Now that I have your attention gentle reader it's time to move on the story after the unexpected cancellation of today's trip to Iona and too much spare time online.  I was on KD tonight, that's Erraidean for Kitchen Duty or what I would recognise as the 'Washing Up Ho'.

So time to catch some rest first sitting outside on my cottage doorstep watching the hens clucking around me feeding on who knows what, watched over by this enormous fat cock!

I went into the hen house early this morning to see their eggs being collected, about a dozen and a half, which will appear on our tables in some guise this week.

It's very relaxing sitting here chatting as people come and go to the wood-house, pier or cottage opposite. My cottage is well placed to be a retreat when you shut the red door, or at the cross-roads of Erraid whenever you open it.
The pantry is well stocked with essentials such as Quinoa, Buckwheat, Millet, herb and spice imaginable needed by every modern age self-respecting gluten free organic vegan church mouse.

So far every meal, eaten in the company of others, has been a delight, especially after a day outdoors being buffeted by the Mull sea winds.

I washed up with Chris from Newcastle, a media teacher who is working here as a woofer, a new tag for me to research.

Conversation turned to his early days as a hunt saboteur as we discussed the beatings he took from the unspeakable's heavies.

I fancy more logging tomorrow or perhaps a spell in the kitchen cooking lunch or dinner. Perhaps I can persuade them to let me prepare my popular Vegetable Biryani, although I have never cooked one for 30 people before.

I'm also keen to have a go at bread making, one of my resolutions this year to give Felicity Kendal a run for her money.

So quite a choice if the opportunity arises tomorrow morning when we all meet up to check-in and assign tasks.
I haven't told you about my first experiences of meditation yet, perhaps tomorrow as I get one more chakra centred under my belt tomorrow.

This time last week I was in a science park immersed in techno agile scrums discussing olap cubes and crm clouds, who would have guessed?

Tonight, perhaps a sauna with who knows talking about god knows what.

Someone has to do it!
